Lots going on here, how about you?

And yet when it comes to writing a post I'm kinda wondering what to say!
At the moment I am participating in the Suffolk Open Studios event 2014.
This means that artists throughout Suffolk, UK, are inviting folks into their
world at the weekends throughout June. You can find out more here.

I have happily had a steady stream of visitors although most, it has to be said,
do not get my work at all. However, several people have given me invaluable
constructive criticism and insight into my work which is always appreciated.

It takes time to find an authentic creative voice and I am busy honing my
skills and visual dialogue. I am also approaching galleries which I find rather
daunting. Oh the arrogance of youth when at 16 I naively caught the 68 bus to
Camden Lock, London and cold called a gallery, 'Chalk Farm Gallery', who
accepted, exhibited and sold all of my drawings.

 Recent Work. Linda Dacey 2014.

So if you live in Suffolk I'd love to meet you and have a wee chat. You
can find me here: After Antoinette, 15 Ranelagh Rd, Felixstowe, IP11 7HA
(although please note that rather confusingly my studio/shop is actually
in Orwell Rd opposite the Citizens Advice Bureau!).

Meanwhile happy creative days one 'n all.

Another Bank Holiday here in the UK. So decided to go out on the hunt for
further Vintage Happiness to list HERE. Didn't find a dickie bird, but the
day was redeemed by a simple Cheese Ploughman's Lunch in an old 1400's
coaching inn/pub which brought back happy memories of childhood holidays
and treat lunches with my parents when I was a little girl.

Simple pleasures.

I cannot believe that it is that time of year again. Chelsea. The Chelsea
Flower Show. I also cannot believe that I have never actually been! I
think this has probably had something to do with the misfortune that is
hayfever that has plagued me since I was 7 years young.

I love a beautiful garden but aside from having toxic fingers I am far too lazy to
achieve anything worthwhile in the dirt. Success is limited to cactus which could,
I reckon, survive a nuclear attack - have you ever tried killing one? I have
and in the end I had to admit defeat and sneakily lob it in the bin.

Nature is truly amazing and resilient with flowers and plants eeking out
an existence in the most unfavorable of conditions.

So, this year for the first time, and I have no idea why, I started to use a
nasal spray to help with the pollen and I cannot believe how brilliant it is.
95% of my sniffling symptoms have vanished. So maybe next year I can
actually make it to Chelsea?

The UK is bathed in sunshine and along with the birds my heart sings.
Why does the sun motivate us so? I am busy painting and organising my 'Art'
in readiness for the SOS/Suffolk Open Studios, which will see me, and
other creatives, opening our studios to the public at the weekends all
throughout June. For further general information please visit here.

Tangle Linda Dacey 2014.

For those of you who live in the UK my studio/shop is in Felixstowe:

Meanwhile if you love vintage feel free to mooch on by my online shop:

Idle Thought:

A dedicated blogger
I'd try to post each day
I'd chat on this, or that, or the other
but suddenly I lost my way.

So now I'm intermitant
my posts are few and far
I guess I really should be consistent
and raise my bleedin bar...

In the spirit of a childhood memory of the pocket money delight known
as the 'Jamboree Bag' which used to be full of unknown sweets and toys
I have just listed the first of my 'Vintage Lucky Dip Tins' here:

Apart from social networking trying to drum up interest in my activities
I have been a demon with a needle this week - stitching up a couple of abstract
delights. Next week I am going to take stock, gulp and approach some
galleries. As the cliche goes nothing ventured/nothing gained.

Meanwhile if you have a spare moment why not have a browse here.

Hope things are good for you.

Thinking I must be bored and yet not sure I have the time to be so
and wondering if I am too old for a Selfie?

Can one ever be too old for anything?

Especially larking around.
Happy weekending.
